Who we are
Max Guru ("we", "us") operates the Max Guru fitness coaching app and website at maxguru.co, connecting gym members with personal trainers in Nepal. Contact: dutsab46@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Account details — name, username, phone number, email, password (stored hashed).
- Fitness & health data — workouts, sets and reps, estimated calories, body weight, sleep, water intake, and (only if you connect it) data you sync from Apple Health or similar services such as steps and heart rate.
- Photos — progress photos, meal photos and food scans that you choose to upload. These are visible to you and your connected trainer only.
- Location — a one-time approximate location, only if you tap "Use my location", used to sort trainers by distance. We never track your location in the background.
- Messages — chats between you and your trainer.
- Payment records — plan, amount and transaction reference. Card/wallet details are handled entirely by eSewa or Khalti; we never see or store them.
How we use it
- To run your training: sharing your workouts, meals, photos and progress with the trainer you chose to connect with.
- To estimate calories and track your goals.
- To process and confirm membership payments.
- To keep the service safe (moderating reported content, preventing abuse).
We do not sell your data, show ads, or share your data with anyone beyond your connected trainer and the payment provider you choose.
AI features
Optional features (food scanning, workout photo verification, AI coach) send the specific photo or question you submit to an AI service for analysis. Results are stored with your account; the inputs are not used to train third-party models by us.
Where it lives & how long
Your data is stored on our servers and kept while your account exists. Session logs and inactive sessions are cleaned periodically.
Deleting your data
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from More → Delete account in the app. Deletion is immediate and irreversible. You can also email us to request deletion.
Your choices
- Camera, photos, location and health access are optional and requested only when a feature needs them; the app works without them.
- You can disconnect from a trainer, block users and report content at any time.
Children
Max Guru is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we'll note it here and in the app.
